Pro Now Live and 2.0 Update Issues
November 14, 2008

CongressPro
We are proud to announce CongressPro is available in the iTunes application store. It's been a good week in our relationship with Apple. Only three days after we submitted our 2.0 updates of Congress and Congress+ they went live. We are grateful to the Apple gods for releasing our Pro version a little over a week after the November 4th election.

The new application offers you the ability to have the latest version of our database in your pocket synced over the air. We have found that this is crucial to professionals who work with Capitol Hill and is a fair price point considering what the competition charges (call and ask them -- we're less than half).

The 2.0 Update
We have some reports of users having problems updating their applications from 1.x to 2.0 and seeing the 111th Congress on their devices. The problem seems to be with updating the application over the air through WiFi or 3G. Updating through iTunes on your Mac or PC directly seems to work.

Therefore, we recommend deleting the application off of your iPhone/iPod Touch, downloading the update (you don't need to pay again), and re-syncing with your device. We are unsure why this is happening so we are sending a bug report to Apple. Thanks for your patience and help in locating the bug in Apple's system.

Fastest. Update. Ever.
November 13, 2008

We would like to thank the Apple update team for pushing our 2.0 version of Congress In Your Pocket through in less than three days. Now, you can "own" the 111th Congress at the iTunes Store a mere nine days after the election.

Coming soon (perhaps in another three business days?), due to popular request, we will be pushing out a new update today that includes congressional district maps. We'd like to thank Brian Goudreau of the great battleground state of Pennsylvania for tipping us to National Atlas for mobile-friendly maps.

We will provide free updates for both applications as the elections in Alaska, Minnesota, and elsewhere are decided. We will also provide a free update in January once office and committee (plus only) assignments are settled.

Finally, a short reminder. In the spirit of a new Democratic president with an eye on green technology, we at Congress In Your Pocket remind you that our application requires no paper (unlike this or that) and it's for something you already own.

Go green. Go paperless. Choose Congress+ (with staff, committees, and updates) or Congress (no staff and committees).
